Explore resources supporting students, educators, and families during Red Ribbon Week 2021, which is being observed October 23-31 and beyond. Through the support of diverse social impact partners, communities across the United States are empowered to help students make healthier choices through flexible, no-cost dynamic digital content.

Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually each October in the United States. Established in 1985 to honor the memory of Drug Enforcement Agent Enrique (Kiki) Camarena, the Red Ribbon campaign seeks to raise awareness of the destruction caused by drugs in the United States.

Aligning with the 2021 Red Ribbon Week theme of “Drug Free Looks Like Me™,” the following partnership programs provide proactive strategies and standards-aligned resources supporting the health and wellbeing of students nationwide

Ask, Listen, Learn, a program of Responsibility.org
Informed students make better decisions. Join?Ask, Listen, Learn?and Discovery Education to uncover the science behind how alcohol affects developing brains, bodies, and behavior. With this content, educators and families can equip students with vital prevention resources and dive deep into the science, data and facts, leading kids to say “YES” to a healthy lifestyle and “NO” to all risky behaviors.

Join us on Facebook Monday, October 25th at 1 PM ET for the premiere of the Ask, Listen, Learn, a program of Responsibility.org video playlist. This video series is designed to help provide students with the knowledge and tools they need to say “yes” to a healthy lifestyle and “no” to an array of risky behaviors.

Dose of Knowledge
As part of CVS Health’s Pharmacists Teach program, Dose of Knowledge offers a suite of no-cost digital resources empowering 3-12 grade students with the facts about prescription and illicit drug misuse, specifically focusing on opioid misuse prevention. The program strives to empower educators and pharmacists to address substance misuse and educate students to make good decisions for the health and well-being of themselves and their community.

Join a live Q&A session with a CVS Pharmacist on Facebook on Tuesday, October 26th at 1 PM ET to explore the Dose of Knowledge resources and discover the role the community can play in helping students make healthy decisions.

As an educator, I try to do everything I can to ensure my students are empowered with the knowledge and resources they need to live healthy lives. I love being able to turn to Discovery Education for trusted resources that are easy to mix into my lessons and take the learning even further,” said Dana Fontaine, a Librarian Media Specialist at Fremont High School of the Fremont Public Schools. “With these resources, I know my students will learn what being drugfree looks like in a way that makes lasting impacts.”

All these resources and more is available on Discovery Education’s recently enhanced K-12 learning platform in the Social Impact Partnerships channel and in the Red Ribbon Week Channel.
