What you’ll learn

Two days, two presenters

Friday

Classroom Management

  • Teach-To’s: teaching your rules and routines so they actually stick
  • Refocus: the end of multiple warnings and repeated requests
  • Reading student moods and responding fast, calm, and consistent
  • Unconditional positive regard as a daily practice, not a poster
  • Classroom arrangement and design that prevents problems before they start
  • What to do the moment prevention fails
Rick Dahlgren

Rick Dahlgren

Founder and creator of the Time To Teach system

30+ years, 400,000+ educators, all 50 states. Teaches Friday's Classroom Management day at every two-day seminar.

Saturday

Engagement & Motivation

  • Why students disengage, and the moves that re-engage them
  • Participation structures that get every student working, not just the front row
  • Motivation that survives past the first week of a new routine
  • Pacing and feedback that keep a lesson moving
  • Reaching the checked-out student without losing the rest of the room
Eric Combs

Eric Combs

2006 Ohio Teacher of the Year

Created the Engagement & Motivation day and teaches it every Saturday.

Graduate credits
8graduate credits, maximum, through UMass Global (regionally accredited)
  • Add credits at checkout: $110 for the first, $100 for each additional.
  • Full Weekend includes 3 credits; add up to 5 more.
  • Up to 4 credits for each day you attend.
  • Enrollment is handled for you. After you register, the paperwork arrives by email.
Pennsylvania
Up to 8 credits = 240 Act 48 hours
One credit counts for 30 hours, so eight credits cover more than your whole 5-year cycle.
Michigan
Up to 8 credits = full renewal plus 2 toward a salary lane
SCECHs can't move your pay. Graduate credits can. Six renew your certificate; the other two start your next lane.
Ohio
Up to 8 credits = your entire 5-year renewal, with 2 to spare
LPDC documentation is provided with every credit.
Colorado
Up to 4 credits = 60 of the 90 required hours
Two-thirds of your renewal, in one day.

Other states: graduate credits from a regionally accredited university are accepted for renewal and salary advancement in most districts. Check your district’s policy, and call us if you’d like help.
